Run VeySur on your own server
The same survey editor and survey-taking app as the cloud service, installed with Docker Compose and kept under your control.

Everything you need to gather insights
From simple polls to complex research surveys, VeySur gives you the tools to get it done.
What you get
One command install
Run ./install.sh from the release package. It generates every secret and starts the whole stack with Docker Compose.
Source-available
The full source is on GitHub under the Elastic License 2.0, so you can read exactly what runs on your server.
Backup and restore scripts
One script writes the databases, uploaded files and configuration to a single archive. Another restores it, including on a new server.
Your own mail relay
Password resets and survey invitations go through the SMTP relay you configure.
The stack is six services on one host:
- Caddy
- nginx
- API
- Task manager
- MySQL
- Redis
Requirements
- 3 GB RAM and 10 GB free disk
- Docker and Docker Compose
- A domain name pointing at the server
- Ports 80 and 443 open to the internet
- An SMTP relay for password resets and invitations
How it differs from cloud
- A self-hosted installation holds a single project.
- You run the updates, backups and monitoring. Only the latest release receives security fixes.
- Your data stays on your own server.
- Encryption at rest is a feature of the cloud service only. On your own server, use full-disk or volume encryption.
